Are there any species other than Paulownia spp. that can put on 10+ feet of growth in the first year, especially from seeds/cuttings, and especially in the Pacific Northwest? I have a few climbing plants I'm being gifted and have nothing for them to climb, so I'm hoping there might be something I could collect seeds or cuttings from locally that might be able to keep up.
Sweet potato vine can. Folks in the southeast grow a decorative annual version of the real thing for some reason. Trumpet creeper (the devil) is another outdoor decor plant that goes nuts too. It’s invasive when it escapes. I cannot think of a tree that has that kind of growth capacity though. I have mimosas growing here like crazy but they’ll only grow 4-5 foot a season.
