Last night's Nightline (ABC News) totally surprised me by making the connection between agi-business factory farming practices and the recent outbreak of swine flu.  The segment discussed a recent Pew Charitable Trust Foundation report critical of antibiotic usage on factory farms and warned about the potential for creating pandemics.  ABC even interviewed the owner of Polyface Farms in Virginia!

Bird Flu is mostly associated with Third World countries who farm a lot of birds crowded together, in unhealthy conditions, right along with people who live in pretty much the same conditions.

Swine Flu is showing up around factory farms with pigs in crowded, unsanitary conditions, fed a regular regime of antibiotics.

And somebody in the news media thinks there might be a connection?

IT'S ABOUT BLOODY TIME!
