Hi.  I’m hoping some of you might have suggestions for how to best handle my large rock landscape.  Hopefully the picture of it posts. We live in the high desert of western Nevada.  Lots of rabbitbrush, sage and other weeds blowing in regularly and popping up in this area to the front and side of our house.  Since moving in here a few years ago, we’ve tried a few approaches, settling on spraying with pre-emergent herbicide in the spring. It’s far too big an area to hand weed or to burn. Other than just letting Mother Nature reclaim this area, are there any environmentally friendly alternatives?

Hi, I don't live in an area with those weeds. I have horse tail. Glyphosate doesn't kill it.  Up here I've used a mixture of liquid hand soap, saltwater, and vinegar for all my other weeds. But I only put this on areas I want nothing to grow. I also have to be careful of overspray.  I can kill other plants I want to keep so I make sure there is little to no wind when spraying. Of course salt over time damages the soil for planting anything else.  Sorry I don't really know anything about your area.

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
