Hello! I will be moving to CA in a few months time. I have all sorts of concerns about the land and climate. I currently live in KY and get plenty of rainfall to make it through any drought. I will be living in the San Luis Obispo area and am concerned I won't get enough rainfall. I don't know what an estimate water bill would be if I try watering everything enough but I can assume it won't be cheap. My question is, if you successfully build a food forest in an area prone to drought, can the microclimate that gets created be enough to assist with holding water and use less resources? Would I ever be able to build a pond?
