Hi everyone! My name is Amay and I live in San Jose, California.

I'm starting this thread so that we can share local stores / activities in the area that we enjoy. I'm still new to permaculture so I haven't been exploring as much as I should.

Some ideas to share:

Fun local stores that embodies permaculture values.
Hiking locations / places to track (inspired by The Art of Mentoring and Coyote Teaching)

Currently, I do almost all my grocery shopping at Sprouts Market because they have delicious organic food.

Hi Amay, San Jose is lovely and I hope you find lots of people to connect with. I'm no longer in the SF Bay Area, but I was born and raised in Palo Alto, and raised my kids in the East Bay. The climate is lovely and you should be able to grow lots of amazing things.

Someone online mentioned this site to get wood chips and with a click of a button, a neighbor 10 minutes walk away from me reached out to me. They have a big load of woodchips in their backyard and offered me to take as much as I want.

Hello, I'm also in San Jose and nice to see someone else here who also lives in the area.  The free wood chip site is definitely a great resource.  I got a HUGE pile of chips from them years ago and used it to line the walkways in the garden.
