I live in Colorado at 8,000’ where it is dry during the summer. I am propagating comfrey as part of a strategy to add life to our soil.
I was considering planting comfrey along my driveway as an edge, but am concerned this would be bad news for the driveway. Would comfrey roots end up damaging the asphalt edges?
I’m also considering planting comfrey along the sides of the concrete foundation of my home and have similar concerns about the roots damaging the concrete. I do have cedar siding but believe it’s dry enough to no promote rot (if that’s even an issue). I could very well be wrong about that.
Are these bad spots to plant comfrey? I do not know if drier climates like colorado make a difference compared to more humid environments.
(The comfrey is a sterile bocking 14 variety)
Thanks!
