I am putting the alkaline diet to the test starting today. I have had good results before but previously it was for skin issues and I had good results. Then I went back to eating ‘normally’. For me that means chemical free – sustainably raised.

Today after some weeks of testing I was stunned to find out that I have a blockage in my heart. I have been having some minor symptoms but in addition also have a nasty family history of everyone dying by the time they reach 54.

While I submitted to the tests as a common sense precaution I now realize that, in reality, I expected the doc to say “you are super healthy – no worries”. That wasn’t the case.

Based on my mom’s advice I stated that I do not have a primary health care physician so the doc discussed everything with me. (I’ll tell that somewhat amusing story later).

He normally would put in a catheter (spelling) but I told him it didn’t do the last guy in my family any good so I want to try this. He was actually pretty cool about it and said he wants me to keep wearing the monitor and would like me to come back in 6 months (he actually said ‘please’). I think I like this guy.

So I have switched to red wine, cried in it, and now will put on my big girl panties and get on with a strict alkaline diet. I have massive plans for the next 30 years – so I am going to see if this will help me get there.

Sure, he can talk to fish, but don't ask him what they say. You're better off reading a tiny ad:
