Hello beautiful people,

My husband and I are looking for unrestricted land, preferably with a dwelling in Tennessee. We are not from TN, rather from TX. Moved to Ohio January and this move has further prompted us to look for our own land. It’s my understanding thus far that property in TN can be very fertile and giving, with communities who share similar views on growing, stewarding land, husbandry and the like.

I am wondering if there are folks here who can give advise on good areas to look for affordable land (5-10ish acres) that may have surrounding communities who will understand our lifestyle goals. We are open to pretty much any area within 45 mins or so of a hospital and prefer to be closer to the mountains rather than west if possible. Thanks for any time you give; time is precious.

Heather, welcome to the forums!

Have you visited Tennessee?

If not, if I were moving to Tennessee I would plan to take some time and visit any areas I might be interested in.

I have visited Tennessee several times.  Some parts of Tennessee are very rugged and might require a 4 wheel drive vehicle.  To me, these are the areas that will have the best land prices.

If you can narrow down the area you are considering there might be forum members that can tell about that area.

My suggestion would be to start a new topic with that area in the title.

Best wishes for your land search.
