I thought this article was very informative.  Disease suppression, toxin limitation, bioavailability of nutrients, mycelium growth and electric flow of nutrients listed among the many benefits.   Interesting that it doesn't come from US universities, who are mainly funded by corporations, but by the government in Spain.
No conflicts of interest.  They are going to be hit really hard by climate change, in my estimation.

Fascinating! It mentions that different raw materials produce biochar that has different effects on the soil, have you seen a study on what exactly are the differences between biochar from different carbon sources?

I have seen some research that suggested that adding some bones to the char, but not a high percent, improves it.  Other than that, this article is the most info on that I've seen. I agree, that part was fascinating.  It made me want to add lots of different inputs to my biochar.

I'm hoping to buy a piece of land in a couple years, maybe I'll have to divide the land up into test plots for different kinds of biochar. If that ever happens I'll be sure to let you all know!
