Aromatic Farm Manager, Ecuador

Job Title: Farm Manager, Ecuador
Department: International
Reports To: V.P. International
FLSA Status: Exempt

· Responsible for harvesting and distilling crops for essential oil production
· Determine crop quantities, draw up plans, maintain harvesting schedules, and coordinate all activities with Young Living
· Work closely with employees to ensure that production goals are met, the farm is running efficiently, and profitability is being maximized

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

· Plant, maintain, weed, cultivate, water, harvest, and distill crops for essential oil production
· Maintain detailed documentation and records on all processes and procedures
· Manage day-to-day activities, organize schedules, and direct activities that need to be undertaken
· Coordinate shipping of the oils to The United States for worldwide distribution
· Follow government and customs regulations and industry best practices for transportation and shipping
· Ensure the farm maintains Young Living quality standards
· Actively participate in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety, including reporting hazards or dangers, accidents, and property damage at the farm
· Ensure all employees are properly trained and appropriate records are kept
· Ensure all relevant company policies are understood and adhered to
· Plan and allocate land use to achieve production targets
· Monitor expenditures in line with budgeted cash flow
· Liaise with key professionals to ensure smooth operation of the farm, including working closely with the director of purchasing to ensure farm is producing high-quality, high-value crops, based on sales trends
· Ensure oils are presented in line with company policies regarding quality, quantity, and timeliness of delivery
· Develop, review, and manage repairs and maintenance schedule for all farm machinery and infrastructure

· Proven ability in farm management
· Necessary planning and organizational skills to carry out company policies while achieving targets
· Ability to act with diplomacy and tact in regard to motivating and disciplining staff
· Must be receptive to learning new technologies to help improve productivity and profitability on the farm
· Ability to engage staff in teamwork and provide them with role clarity
· Be self-motivated and able to communicate effectively at all levels
· Ability to work actively as a team member in developing and achieving company objectives on the farm
· Ability to promote and project a positive attitude toward the company and its objectives

Education and Experience
· Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in farm management
· Experience with international travel required
· An agricultural science/management bachelor’s degree preferred
· Certificate or degree in agribusiness management preferred
· Certificate or degree in rural staff management preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities
· Supervise day-to-day activities, organize rosters, and schedule tasks and activities that need to be undertaken to ensure production and employee morale is high

· Presentation abilities are preferred but not required for this position.
