I found one of my hens struggling to get out of my pond. I have no idea how long she was in the water but she is shivering. I wrapped her up in a towel and took her indorse to dry off some where its warm. What should I do? Just put her back out and allow her to dry off? Or should I keep her inside where it warm.

How cold is it at your place in August? Wait until she is completely dry and moving around and put her back outside. At my house I wouldn't even had taken her inside or toweled her off...hot here and chickens know how to groom themselves after getting soaked.

Ah. Then I'd just keep her inside until she appears dry and comfortable and then put her out with the others. It's 85 degrees here so I'm sweltering and thinking, "Dang! I'll take a dip in the pond!!! Would feel great right now!"

And tomorrow is the circus! We can go to the circus! I love the circus! We can take this tiny ad:
