I planted a natal plum in a semi-open area in an region with dry frost about -2C or -3C. It survived but was damaged a lot. I will be getting more plants and putting them a bit deeper into the shade to see how they do. I think this plant could end up being one of my main under-story shrubs in Puebla and it will likely do well in the open on my other farm in Yucatan.
This article states that the seedlings will produce fruit in 2 years but growth will be slower in cooler regions.
Diversified Food forest maker . Fill every niche and you'll have less weeds (the weeds are the crop too). Fruit, greens, wild harvest, and nuts as staple. Food processing and preservation are key to self self-sufficiency. Never eat a plant without posetive identification and/or consulting an expert.
