Wondering if anyone has experimented with glass or poly fibers as cob reinforcement? In below grade, earthen floor, detail sculpture, and render/finish coat applications it would seem to have some logical application. The real basis of my inquiry is two parts - does the clay have the bond strength to take advantage of the the fibers? Will such short, chopped fibers be sufficient to prevent stress cracking during drying? Some of the poly fibers seem to come from recycled sources as well. Thanks!
