Hello everyone,

(yes, it's another question about yet another plant)

I have three tobacco variety, and have so far only planted one of them, in pots.

This year, I want to plant those three variety. I do not plan as of now to harvest their seeds, or at least preserve the variety right now, so I don't need any kind of isolation.

However I have no idea as of the spacing requirement for each variety. I have one nicotiana tabacum "Hyang Cho", and two nicotiana rustica, "Ancient" and "Punche Mexicano". The seller says that dwarf varieties can be 20cm apart, and giant varieties 80cm apart, but what define a dwarf and giant variety ? The overall size of the plant, or the size of its leaves ? The "Ancient" variety plants are 1m to 1.2m high yet its leaves are 70cm to 80cm long, but the "Punche Mexicano" variety is 150-200cm high yet its leaves are 30-40cm long...

So far I plan to sow them at the end of april, and plant them right after I harvest my two square meter of wheat, trying to do some kind of bio-intensive (even if I am probably butchering the method in some way).

Which one should be spaced 80cm between each plant, which one should be spaced 20cm... I can't use pots as I will have far too many plants in pots.

I have mainly grown Burley and mostly twist bud.  Check the Dave's Garden website for specific varieties.  18 to 24 inches is good for most smoking type tobaccos.  Some varieties can get very big though.  There are a couple of specific tobacco growing forums online, but the main one is run by an absolute tyrant jackass.  I mean, this guy actively trolls his own forum members and has a rule that any argument with an admin gets you banned.  Victory Seeds has some good info on their site for heirloom varieties, ad does seedman (not the cannabis seller, the heirloom seed website)
