I've been looking into the WWOOfing options and none of what I've seen so far sits comfortably with me. The Thailand arm of the official WWOOF organisation looks a bit neglected and I'm not particularly happy at paying money for a choice of 5 'local' volunteers. Also, one of the links in the welcome email sent me to a Japanese Dental website.
Kristen Tabor posted a nice list of volunteer sites here [permies.com/p/665247], but they all seem a bit faceless to me. I'd be much happier building an online relationship with a Permies member who wants to experience the madness of Thailand and my wife's, err, 'interesting' cooking. The world is beginning to open up 'after' covid and I see people are itching to get out and explore the world again. From a volunteer's perspective, I guess they have similar reservations using a WWOOFing website as I do. Again, using Permies to first get comfortable with each other and what is expected from both parties, seems a much more organic way of doing things.
Anyone fancy a few weeks mucking around in the dirt in NE Thailand? If so, drop send me a message and we can have a chat. Bear in mind, I'm a grumpy Englishman married to a crazy Thai dynamo.
PS - We're not tee-total, vegan, vegetarian, gurus, optimistic, but don't have an issue with people who are (except optimistic people - they're the worst!)

Not tee-total...
Currently developing three plots in Udon Thani & Wang Nam Keow, Thailand.
I realise not many people are in a position to up sticks and travel halfway around the world to go and enter a labour camp ran by a couple of weirdos, but it would be great to start conversations (private or public) with onyone who thinks it could be a possibility at some point in the future.
I'll get back in my box. Goodnight.
