Don't forget Blender (https://www.blender.org/) It is open source, works on Window's, MAC, Linux, and BSD.

It is normally associated with 3D modeling and such, but has a fantastic video editing suite built in.

As with any video editing, you can do it on any computer, but it may take you a long time if your computer is slow.

Open source is the way to go....

Love linux, and virtual machines  for those apps that only run on windows.

I am a big fan of spreedsheets and this program on Linux is lightweight fast.
