An acquaintance mentioned that she got her kid's bike from a "Buy Nothing" group on FB.  I had never heard of this, so I looked it up and found a group local to me.  I've been giving and getting quite a bit in just the 1 week I've been a part of the group.  It's like the free page on CL, but more people use FB these days.
Just throwing this out for others who might want to find a local group.

Freecycle.org is another similar option. You will need to request to join the appropriate town or towns to interact with the posts. I think it is less active than facebook groups I have seen, at least in my area, but I have seen a lot of goods move through, so if you don't spend time on facebook, it's a good option. The "wanted" post option allows members to request things which I think is helpful too.

Can you smell this for me? I think this tiny ad smells like blueberry pie!
