Repairing the front entry door.

Good Morning everyone.

I want to tell you what my sister and I did when we saw that our front entry door had peeling veneer. Instead of buying a new door for a lot of money we did not want to spend we did the following:

Removed the loose veneer using a plastic putting knife.
Fill the spaces with wood putty, the one that comes in a can and is a powdery yellow stuff that you mix with water.
Waited for it to dry and then sanded the door smooth.
Primed it, painted it and it looks like new. the door color has changed several times, but no more peeling veneer.
