Attracting fox squirrels to property?

Does anyone know what I could do to my property to attract fox squirrels? Are there certain trees or food plants I can grow to attract them? They are so cool. They are about twice the length of a grey squirrel and are not as neurotic. They are slower and they have a cool customer personality. I have seen them about a 1/2 mile to a mile away from my homestead so I know they are in the general area, but never on my property.

Is your squirrels red? Down south we call the red ones 'fox' but yanno how them yankees are, properly naming everything...lol Yellow Pine cones is what they eat & live in mature yellow pine, at least it is that way, south of the Ouchita river....just saying.

If you type "fox squirrel in Georgia" in Google it will show a picture of a large grey squirrel with a black face.

well gee whiz, whatever color the thing is don't matter anyway. If you want them nearby, feed em sunflower seed, they might go for that. And if your really serious about having em hang out with ya, you could set a nesting box wayyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyyyy (think 80' or more) up in a tree. The thing is, you can't just have like one lone tree in your yard, squirrels frequent areas that they can traverse from tree to tree, a little jump and poof he is out running me thru the woods. The red fox squirrels I've seen naturally hang out in the tops of a big pine, sometimes a hollow snag, might hold some extra food he likes. If it is a grey squirrel just plant or set out some sunflower, he will eat ever drop. They like a bowl of water on the ground too.

The squirrel I am thinking of is the Eastern Fox Squirrel, Sciurus niger.

Squirrels love nuts and seeds. I am pretty confident any nut or seed would do. Acorns from oaks, seeds from pines or other evergreens, sunflower seeds from bird feeders(lol). Really anything that produces seed or nut but to keep any animal around you need many different plants so there will be a constant supply of food available. Once you have a constant supply of food around, weather it from trees or small fruit bushes to strawberry plants many animals will come. If the squirrel you want to come lives in your neck of the woods he will also come.

You can have mine! They love to eat my apples, sunflowers and corn. If I understand right, they were brought to Cali as a game animal. They're pretty hard to skin but tasty, almost like lean pork. Here in CA fish and game has no season and no limit on them since they're considered invasive.
