Do you have skills and experience in Permaculture and/or organic farming? Feel you are ready to lead a project? Would you like to live in the western highlands of Guatemala beside a beautiful lake?

The Yoga Forest is in the early stages of its development, and is now open to hosting volunteers to help us build our vision. The project is a conscious living experiment bringing together the principles of Permaculture and the philosophies of yoga. We hope to create a healthy alternative lifestyle to bring people together through living more closely with nature, producing our own food with ecological consciousness and creating balance for individual, community and spiritual development through yoga. As our community develops, an integral part of our mission will be outreach, education and encouragement.

As we begin to host volunteers, we need a Permaculture Director to help us direct, guide and teach our volunteers skills in Permaculture and sustainable farming practices. We can currently host up to 8 volunteers in our new cabaña and loft space, and this will increase as building continues. We also have a kitchen, nursery, chicken coop, solar bathroom, compost toilets, two orchards and many other projects currently on the go. We are now making more terraces for vegetable growing beds and a fish pond, and in the next year plan to complete our Yoga studio, a temascal (sauna) and dip pools, and more cabaña accomodations.

If you think this is a project that may interest you please get in touch with us! You can also check out photos at our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TheYogaForest
