We just had our first litter of pigs ...Kunekunes.  I will get pictures as I can.  Mother is doing an excellent job so far.  Hopefully, a second litter will be arriving soon.  I have raised pigs before, but this is my first success at breeding them.

I should mention that they are well protected.  They are with mother in the farrowing pen.  And .... my Border Collie and Australian Shepherd are just outside the pen 24/7.

Sold the weaners by now, I suppose.

I've had a few litters so far and only issue I had:
a) little ones sneaking out of the pen and getting "hunted" by my dog
b) mom laying on the newborn due to cold

Otherwise, I find them the best larger animal to breed.

Switching from electric heat to a rocket mass heater reduces your carbon footprint as much as parking 7 cars
