Once Upon a Saga - Torbjørn C. Pedersen's travels to every country in the world without flying

I've been following this story for years now, and finally, Thor is almost done!

Covid caused him some major, crazy delays. He was stuck in Hong Kong long enough that his long-term girlfriend came there so they could get married.  She'd been waiting a long time, too!

He just made it to Tonga.  It have been very fun watching his adventures.  I've never traveled much due to health issues, and I also have rarely flown.  I'm happy now reading other people's stories.  I had a cousin travel by cargo ship once - it's not as simple as it sounds.  Thor has been able to do it because he has an extensive shipping logistics background and lots of connections.

To get the most recent place he's at go to:
Where is Thor now...check his blog

You can check his GPS location on the right side of the page, too.  I think he's headed to Fiji next?

He made it to Vanuatu, his 200th country! Below are all pics from his blog.

This picture Thor took of the ocean looks sooo nice to me right now.  It's been awhile since I've been to the ocean.

And lest it sound romantic traveling by cargo ship...he lays it out very honestly.  I get the impression it was fun in the beginnings, but it definitely takes a hardy sort to travel so much by ship!

To my shock, he even got seasick recently! You'd think that was something that the body would adjust to completely after so long.  It was on a smaller ship, though, a ferry I believe.  Ugh.  Sounded awful!!

I've been so impressed with his willingness to stick this out.  I am definitely a landlubber; I don't like to be away from ground for too long!
