NW UK wanting to make contacts in my region

Im Duncan. Im would like to make contact with others on the Forumn in the UK. Would like to swap some ideas

Im looking for a new place to adapt/build in the UK, anywhere from Mid Wales...Through NW ...to SW Scotland.

Want to find some quiet corner, and live an unobtrusively as possible. Like Earth Sheltered buildings, wood burners & water turbines.
Im currently realising some of my business assets, and want to turn the dream into reality.

Im reasonably practical, able bodied and a pragmatist, not an idealist

Is anyone out there? Got a spare few minutes for a reply over christmas

Good luck with your plans, they sound fantastic.

I'm working on an estate, attempting to become more sustainable and self-sufficient. Just starting at the moment with the basics - chickens and vegetables. They already had cattle and sheep and plenty of fish, so we've made some steps in the right direction.

I'm in Cumbria on the Pennines. We moved here to start an off-grid smallholding, keep a few animals and grow. Because of the climate I am seriously looking into Sepp Holzer's Permaculture to grow on the moorland we are on! We sold up with a dream and are still trying to realise it. It would be good to make contact!

Hiya. I'm up in NE Scotland and have a 7 acre smallholding with hens, ducks, guinea fowl, goats, sheep and horses. I'm trying to get a food forest established but it's hard as we are so exposed. Look very carefully at any land you are interested in as it can make such a difference.

I'm in Brierley Hill, West Mids. Quite a suburban setting and a big Victorian house but I do what I can with chickens, supplementary solar water heating and planning my first indoor rocket mass heater this year. Otherwise, I'm using this place as a testbed for ideas.
Long term the plan is to move to Sweden (near my lady's folks) and start 'doing it properly'. Best of luck with your ventures here in the UK !
