About me:  62yo, like the title says.  6'-2" tall and 225lbs.  Strong, fit, active, and healthy.  I'm not a Vegan, but I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, and I eat a lot of fowl, fish and seafood.  And I try to limit my red meat and pork consumption.  I do get a craving for pork sausage, bacon and a nice steak once in a while.  ha ha  I like to hike, cycle, camp, fish, hunt, travel, cook and anything else outdoors.  I've worked in construction for the past almost 40 years, so I'm used to hard work and I can operate equipment and build just about anything with any type of materials.  I've worked abroad for the past 13 years and recently returned to the US.  I'm not limited by geography and I definitely have not decided on a specific place to put my plan into action beyond the next couple of years.

My plan:  I would like to spend the next couple of years flipping houses in Southeast Houston, where I'm currently living and working.  I'd like to buy, fix and resell 4 houses in the next 2 years to generate some extra income and work together with my partner (the adventurous partner that I'm looking for).  After 2 years and 4 houses flipped, I'd like to buy some acreage, build an off-grid house, raise a garden, raise animals, relax but work hard, and enjoy life with my wife and partner.  I'm divorced and have 3 grown children, but if you have children, that's ok.  Will be a great place for them to live and grow up.

If you're an adventurer and find my post interesting, I'd like to chat and see where it goes.  Please DM me.

Dave

Not sure if my first message made it you. Am interested in chatting/texting, to learn more about your plan. I’m thinking the time to settle some land and get building, is sooner; rather than a couple of years down the road. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but there’s been a lot of unsavoury nonsense happening all over the planet. I’m a healthy woman in my 60s looking for some ideas, maybe a partner. Your post mentions a wife AND a partner. An error perhaps? 🙃
I recently left Ontario Canada and settled in New Brunswick. I’m miserable. I want some land, some chickens, and the task of gardening most of the summer. Let me know if you’d like to communicate. Even if just to share info! Thanks Dave
Chris

Hi just reaching out to see if you have had any luck finding your adventure partner. I would be interested in talking more if not!  I'm 54 and currently in Colorado but with plans to begin my own adventure this coming year. Blessings!

+Hi Dave, I am in Southern Texas wanting a permaculture farm on these 3 acres lakefront property . It has a nice 3 bedroomhouse. Lots of grass ,big old trees and i started gardens last year.  So much to do here to permaculturize the place. I would like some more people here so could have more animals too. It is private and beautiful. I read about edible subtropicals and gardening. and i am learning from the locals about traditional growing food and herbs and the Farmersmarket is a great source for buying and selling excess produce and plants..Beyond organics. I practiced acupuncture fo many years. i  found out no needles needed just learning the flows and then feel the acupuncture points. Awareness and be present. . lot of nature wildness and comfortable living hot showers and washing machine. larger house that holds the temperature pretty well. I learned the willingness to talk things over very important . a larger community vowed by regular sharing of where they are at daily was most important in healing minds besides ,   nature and good food.. appleacupuncture23@gmail.com
