Good Morning Everyone,
Looking for girls in southern California that are interested in homesteading is probably a big ask, but oh well...

So I am a 38 year old veteran living in southern California (San Diego). I have been saving for the past four years and now have money to purchase some land and I am looking at Tennessee, but do not have a location set in stone yet.
I am not planning to live out there permanently for another 7 years until I have gotten my retirement pension from my work, but am planning to spend a lot of time there preparing the land the land before moving out fulltime.

I am a Christian and looking for another Christian or Catholic. I do not have any children, but I do want a large family if possible.

In my free time I enjoying cooking, playing musical instruments, working out, reading, and occasionally playing video games.

As far as related technical skills that would be helpful I am proficient with mechanical and electrical equipment, so I can fix most vehicles and setting up solar panels would be easy. I am also familiar with plumbing.

Well this is a long shot, but who knows, maybe there is another old soul out there that wants a family and a farm.

Regards,
Andrew

Hello Amelia,
how is your day going?
I wasn't expecting this to work, but I was wrong it seems.
What caught you attention? Are you local to California or Tennessee?

Success! Lol
Okay, so now the bad news....*sad trumpet plays* I live in Tulsa, Ok. I desire to relocate to any place in the country where I can live off grid and homestead. We are both Christians wanting similar things so I thought it was worth a shot.

What got you first interested in homesteading?
Homesteading and off griff living has been a strong desire of mine since I was in my early 20's. I'm a crafty creative type, and have been learning skills, like mending clothing and basket weaving, because I don't want to see those things die. I am obsessed with learning how to do things the primitive way. Lol but I still live in the city in an apartment. I also love foraging for wild edibles and learning about healing plants.

Amelia,
Thank you for your interest. I should have clarified this in my original post, but I am looking for someone without children already.
I wish you all the best.

Kristen,
I have been enjoying all the rain, and even the hail we have been getting out here this month. California does look pretty right after the rain when everything is shiny and green. I wish California wasn't such an expensive and poorly managed state to live in, I might look at buying property here. As is stands now I am looking at Tennessee.

Andrew;

That is soooo exciting!  I love Tennessee; hoping to get out to those parts eventually!

The land looks beautiful and I can just 'see' the possibilities!

Love the creek too:-)

R Marie,
Thank you. I am a really excited about all the possibilities.
When I was out there the realtor was even kind enough to point out the wild grapes, cherries, and blackberries. I might have to try my hand at making wine
The small town down near by is also really cute and everyone I met was really nice, even after I told them I was moving from california...
I would highly recommend Tennessee the prices of land are very good. I am also excited to escape the "culture" that is california.

It was brought to my attention that I was not clear about who I was looking for. I am not necessarily looking for someone that also lives in california, just someone that is interested in Tennessee, since now that is where I have property.

Good morning everyone,
I just wanted to post a little update. Yesterday I became the proud new owner of the property shown above.
I am still living in California, but for anyone who is up to date with California upcoming California law, I will most likely not be here for much longer.
If there is a Christian homemaker out there that feels the urge of adventure and wants to be part of starting a homestead, I am still looking

Hi Andrew! Your property looks absolutely lovely, congratulations! I was wondering if you'd want to talk to someone currently in Canada but willing to relocate? I completely understand if you don't, long distance isn't for everyone. Best of luck!

Good Afternoon Rosie,
I live in southern California where the the homesteading community is pretty small, and the people willing to leave California have long since escaped.
So yeah am willing to try a relationship that might start out long distance.
I will send you a message

Good Afternoon everyone.
I just wanted to put out an update; I put my notice in at work and I will be moving to my property in Tennessee in March.
Quitting a job, moving to a farm with nothing on it, in a town where I dont know anyone should be quite the adventure.
Hopefully there is a nice farm girl out there
Andrew

Hello Shayna,
I completely forgot about this post, but I guess my email is still tracking it. I will send you a message.

Also as an update...
I am relocating in 49 days to my farm land. I am really excited to finally be escaping California.

a little bit of land update; I now have a road! These pictures are taken from the same place some of the above pictures, it makes for an amazing before and after. Can anyone guess which pictures are the same location?
