I made a video documenting the extreme cold polar vortex weather event we had last month in the forest garden. It will be interesting to see what kind of die-back we get from this, we haven’t had this level of cold for a few years.

This is in the high peaks region of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. The forest garden is on a 200-acre campus for a boarding school and summer camp, with a working farm and garden, maple sugar operation, and lots of cool stuff going on. The institution is a leader in edible schoolyard and outdoor education, so it’s a perfect place to demonstrate permaculture principles.
