Growing where you are planted.

I love books that encourage people to grow things in abundance.  Looks like Lynn Gillespie has many great tips.

I met a couple a couple years back that lived in apartment.  They didn't have any ground at all to plant in.  They had a driveway that was about 1-1/2 car widths wide.  They planted a whole garden in buckets along the driveway.  It was fun to watch them bring extras in to the shop to share with others, because they had more than they could handle!

They finally got a place with ground and are using wood chips for fertilizer.  It all started with a bucket of soil.

Does anyone else have a great story on someone starting out?
