after doing the Permaculture Design Certification,
comes two years of applied work in any area
where permaculture is integrated an applied into your life
Bill Mollison's original vision was that everyone who did a PDC would be inspired
to continue on and do a Diploma afterwards

by documenting your permaculture work, study, design, and application
along with any ways in which you are integrating permaculture into your life,
you can earn a valuable resume and life toolkit boosting Permaculture Diploma.

the Permaculture Diploma will upgrade your resume and portfolio
putting you in a small percentage of people who take their permaculture practice to the next level
and show that you have done two + years of applied work in permaculture
Bill Mollison recommended that everyone do a Diploma after a PDC
as a way to integrate and apply permaculture to their lives

if you are doing permaculture in your life anyway
this is a way to essentially get credit for what you are already doing
while providing some structure to help support you to record and integrate the lessons
from your life experience

here is the design for this uniquely creative, participant driven and self-directed Diploma Program nested in an Advanced Permaculture Course :

Gaiacraft presents a uniquely creative and flexible advanced permaculture course which can optionally stack functions and serve as a diploma mentorship program. The course and program can be done from a distance with optional in person meet ups . You can do the advanced permaculture certification on its own and have the option to also do a Permaculture Diploma process through the Permaculture Institute USA at the same time!

Join with a learning guild of permaculture people who already completed a Permaculture Design Course and are taking the next step to apply permaculture to their lives. From beginning gardeners to experienced eco-educators, from apartment dwelling urbanites to small and broad scale organic rural permaculture farmers, and from fresh PDC graduates to professional designers, consultants and teachers, all can boost their life toolkit, resume and portfolio while getting credit for applied permaculture work in any area of site design, consulting, aid or teaching. Whatever scale on which you practice permaculture, you can join a group of peers to share in a learning journey to deepen their work. Those that wish to get recognized for the work they have done, and are doing, by applying permaculture to their life and work, can complete a valuable Permaculture Diploma.

All Seasons
Advanced Permaculture Program

As a social permaculture vehicle for carrying us through this time of transition, the course offers a dynamic learning pathway which will evolve your ability to teach, design and consult using the permaculture toolkit. This course helps to support your process of growing awareness while strengthening your confidence and presence in the world.

Advanced Permaculture Program Details

flexible elements of the program include :

begin / continue to make a permaculture map of your home / land of your choice
begin / continue to make a permaculture design your home / land of your choice
continue to apply your site design to your home / land of your choice

on your own, or with a group of locals, make a permaculture map for of your neighbourhood, community or region
as part of a resilience assessment

reading :

anyone in British Columbia is asked to do the same texts
as the in person class does
as they are relevant to this bioregion and its helpful having a group going through them together

for those outside of BC
highly recommend at least
two books on permaculture
two books on Transition (handbook and companion)
two books on First Nations ethnobotany and land use practices in the local area of participants
two books on Four Season Organic Gardening for your climate

course work :

highly recommended is everyone take at least one additional in person
Advanced Permaculture Course of more than 3 days long
highly suggested is a Teacher Training with Scott Pittman and Larry Santoyo of PI USA which I will also attend

optional in person meet ups in BC :

i run a seasonal in-person meet ups for an Advanced Permaculture Course
these are optional and open to any students i am mentoring at no additional cost
this gives participants a chance to share with a supportive group what they have been doing
visit different permaculture farms, forests and community gardens
have a permie potluck, view new media and have teaching practice
some may never come to these optional meet ups or some might just come to one at some point in the 2 1/2 year study

The advanced course is $555. ($655 with extended payment plan)
All proceeds go towards basic course costs and paying for Delvin's permaculture education.

in alignment with the area of interest they intend to do for their Diploma

the minimum hours for a Diploma is 2040, if you want to have your diploma in two categories the hours would be 2540. All documented work done since graduating with your PDC can count towards a Diploma.
