Hello,
My wife and I are going on a week vacation to the Smoky Mountain National Park this May, I am looking for intentional communities/farms in the surrounding area which we may be
able to visit and spend a day or part of a day learning. I have not found anything as of yet and am wondering if you would be able to provide and leads for me in my search.

Also, I understand that the urban farm school has a limited number for enrollment, but would it be possible, if we were in Asheville, to see some of the projects that might be worked on at the urban farm school. We would even be able to lend a couple helping hands to the mix.

Thanks,
Chris

whoa, definitely didn't look further into the school until just a second ago. I just checked out the ashevillage.org website and am very much interested in making a stop on our trip!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your interest! We have an option that might work really well for you and your wife when you're here visiting: we offer three day workshops as part of the Urban Farm School as well as our Natural Building School that starts in June: http://ashevillage.org/program/3-day-workshops/. Let us know if you're interested! If you're just looking for a one-day option we may be able to arrange a tour of our one acre permaculture demonstration site near downtown Asheville.

Have you connected with Earthaven Ecovillage? They are in Black Mountain about 40 minutes east of Asheville, and have an amazing 300+ acre community in the woods: www.earthaven.org. It's well worth the drive!

You guys wanna see my fabulous new place? Or do you wanna look at this tiny ad?
