Things do not need to be fancy.

I built this chicken shelter in 30 minutes. Two short lengths of cattle panel. Stuffed dry grass in between. Two hooks to ground it.

Chickens love it. It is cosy and safe until winter arrives.
Cost? Around 10$

It looks great!
My chickens would probably sleep on it. They're stubborn like that.
I had to take down an old roosting spot that was falling apart around them before they agreed to move to the new shelter, and even then some of them roost in a tree.
