Hello Everyone,

I'm Announcing a Permaculture Design Certification Course at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm, Grass Valley, CA

November 7-14, 2009
Focus: Rural and Suburban

Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm
14651 Ballantree Lane
Grass Valley, CA 95949

Permaculture is a creative and artful way of living, where people and nature are both preserved and enhanced by thoughtful planning, the careful use of resources, mimicking the patterns found in nature and a respectful approach to life. Thus embraced, these attributes create an environment where all may thrive for untold generations.

Midwest Permaculture is offering a full, 72-hour Design Certification Course as originally outlined by Australian, Bill Mollison, the founder of permaculture.  The course will be located at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm, 40 acres of secluded land near Grass Valley, California, about fifty miles north of Sacramento.

Each PDC spends part of the class time creating a design; this course will continue the work on the permaculture design started in 2008 by the previous course.  The students will help assess the resources available to the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm (including, but not limited to, the land, soil, wildlife, sun, rain, wind, water, topography, plants, buildings, people, financial resources, etc.) and design systems for the harvesting of those resources in a sustainable manner.  The goal is to improve the quality of the soil and the natural environment, while producing a myriad of food, herbs and other useful items. The system should be energy efficient (in terms of labor and the need for outside inputs) and ultimately support the Ashram's overall vision and mission to help others find health and peace within themselves, their lives, and the greater world.

The course consists of 6 pre-course webinars + 8 very full days on site.
Tuition is $1,295 with a discount for registering early and groups, plus lodging.
