I love working in my large organic garden but my two nemeses are pests and invasive weeds. A comprehensive guide to identifying and managing these two problems would be wonderful! We have had a ton of rain this year which is making slugs plentiful. Beer traps only work for a short time as they frequently get filled with rain. I just resorted to Sluggo and seems to be helping. The weeds are better managed with raised beds but are still a constant battle. I invested in the Garden Master Kickstarted and after watch several days of the videos I am trying to learn how to live with and appreciate weeds which is quite the paradigm shift.

This!

A comprehensive guide to natural ways to get rid of both pests and weeds is a great idea.

For pests, I have found using soap to be very effective.  Before that, I was using vinegar which worked well.  Since used dishwater is free, I am no longer using vinegar.

Salt will kill slugs.

For weeds, horticultural vinegar which is much strong than the usual household vinegar works well.

Some weeds are easier to just pull up.

Some folks use the flame thrower method.

My preferred method is the smother method.  I use whatever I have handy though my favorite is the door off an old computer because the metal heats up thus killing the weeds quicker.

Here is a little more info about Sluggo: (remember I said salt kills slugs):

There are way better ways to deal with slugs without spending money.  And even more ways that bring money (duck eggs sell for $12-30 per dozen here!)

I suppose it would be good to keep as a possible weapon in the arsenal, but doesn't seem like something I would want to use very often.
