Hi all,
I’m wondering if anyone could please give me some guidance as to how to add full depth langstroth frames into a layens horizon? I’m new to beekeeping and also have a flowhive but I’m unsure how to establish my new layens.

I’ve read that I could cut the langstroth down the side to fit into layens and screw into place but in practice I’m a little hesitant with this (see attached). Thanks in advance for any advice I appreciate it. Thanks

Integrating full-depth Langstroth frames into a Layens horizontal hive requires careful adaptation due to the differences in frame sizes and hive dimensions. To do this, you can modify the Layens hive by creating or purchasing custom-made adapters that fit the Layens hive's frame spacing. These adapters should securely hold the Langstroth frames in place while maintaining the correct bee space. Ensure that the frames are level and well-centered to allow the bees to work efficiently. Additionally, consider introducing Langstroth frames gradually to minimize disruption to the colony. Regular monitoring and adjustments may be needed to ensure a successful integration, taking into account the specific needs of your bees and the hive's unique configuration.
