have you thought about selling your land for a conservation easement to a local land trust which would mean giving up the development and mineral rights? this could bring a good amount of $ for you and allow you to still farm.

Thanks for the suggestion Wesley. I looked into that but the two land trust organizations I could find in our region weren't able to help us, especially not in such a short amount of time.
