Im not sure if it has been mentioned yet, so posting here for everybody as a heads up.

The next IPCC is taking place in Taiwan.  Mark your calendars!  There is still time to organize and participate for this gathering of permaculture peeps.

Have any of you attended past IPCC's? What was the experience like?

Here is another link for this event.  If you want to be a speaker now is a great time to make plans, and let it be known!

Something I learned about Taiwan while living there for a couple of years is that land is ridiculously expensive, while there is also an aging population of farmers who own lots of land.

I believe it to be a place potentially filled with "Otis's."

At the same time, as far as I could tell, Permaculture is becoming more and more popular there, and the typical permaculture student cannot afford to buy their own land.

With an International Conference on Permaculture taking place there might very well be a great opportunity here to bring in a presenter about "SKIP" and "Building a Better World in our Backyards", and the International Permies.com community. To help the growing local Taiwan Permies community find ways to actually gain access to land for long term use, while helping aging farmers pass on their land to somebody deserving.

I don't think that speaking Chinese is a prerequisite for somebody wanting to present.  There will likely be interpreters available without an issue.  I have made friends with a few bilingual teachers there and would gladly help make the connections.

Who would be willing and able to go? If Paul or Mike Haasl are too busy and unable to do it, then who might they recommend?  How to get the funding together for travel expenses, etc?

This could be one step towards getting permaculture into a Billion brains
