Are there any herbs that help with Heart Arrhythmia. I have a heart defect called ventricular tachycardia. I take a drug called Metoprolol which regulates my heart rhythm. Without it I am in big trouble. I'm worried that in the event of some disaster I would die because I can't get my meds.
Thanks
not particularly. people with bad problems with V-Tach typically get AICD's implanted. years ago, we would just die of it. amongst the hundreds of things that modern medicine does help with.
if metoprolol is helping, that is great. it's a cheap medication with very few side-effects. please be careful with any heavy exertions.
Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) has been traditionally used to treat arrhythmia among other things. I have only used it as a sedative/anti-anxiety so I couldn't tell you how well it regulates a heartbeat, but in your case it is worth researching.
I couple of good places to start:

Thanks so much for your help. I will definitely look into Motherwort. I wish it was caused by calcium or magnesium but unfortunately its caused by a heart defect. I am willing to bet it is not helped by low mag levels. My doc always tests those when I see him. Thanks again. Maybe there is hope after all.
I used to take hawthorn berry for palpitations. I don't anymore because I don't have them since I did the amazing liver gallbladder flush. Most disease originates in a congested liver. You can try shepherdss purse. as well as a heart tonic.
