I've just started drinking some alchemilla tea for menstrual issues.
I found this article,
http://www.herbalmedicinefromyourgarden.com/ladys-mantle-health-benefits/, which says that alchemilla vulgaris is also known as alchemilla xanthochlora and is the one to use for medicinal properties. (Though, I must say that I don't agree with the idea of douching - ever.) This article also claims that a. mollis is not effective as a medicinal.
So I tried to find out if my plant is a. vulgaris or a. mollis. I can't tell. I thought this analysis,
http://www.chicagobotanic.org/downloads/planteval_notes/no24_alchemilla.pdf, from the Chicago Botanic Garden would help, but it didn't. I guess the a. vulgaris is a bit more spreading and open.
Here are the leaves of mine. When it blooms, I'll try to get a shot of that as well since I currently don't have a picture of that.
Any tips on use or how to tell the difference?
