We started the day working on the ice auger as it is made of plasticy bits which have snapped. you can see both of the augers side by side to see how the one is damaged, preventing it from pushing ice forward. it is also missing a long metal rod that most likely controls the ice shut off. It's fixed and working, but the rod needs some looking into.

After getting the auger sorted we worked on Judy, we pulled off the serpentine belt to take a closer look at the power steering pulley that i thought was cracked, but looks like it was potentially machined that way. The leak was not immediately identifiable and might due for another trip from the mechanic as well as a worn power steering fluid line that is being dug into by another line.

From there we cleared out a path in the snow, the front of the mailbox and from the fisher price house. We also laid snow down from the mailbox to the red cabin to the fisher price house.

Next we head up to Allerton Abbey and checked up on the cats and greenhouse. More cats showed up today, counted up to 7, so most likely just didn't come out last time. We had to walk from the gate to the Abbey due to the snow being too high for the Rav to get through from the gate. The tractor is due for a repair as well with a mechanic coming this Wed/Thurs.

From there we cut up some logs by Arakkis that were collected a while back and buried in snow.

Finally we worked on one of the classroom shelves to add another layer to the storage. About halfway through that.

We started the day ordering a charger for the crimson crimcycle to check the battery status. I also sent out some emails and text messages for Judy and the Tractor.

The we spent the rest of the first half of the day cleaning and organizing the shop. I also investigated the planer in more depth to see what part was damaged. It looks like there are some copper bits connected to a metal plate that the rotating parts stick in. It looks like the copper parts got worn down to the point where the machine wore into the metal plate.

I couldn't find the missing parts that were supposed to have been ordered but was able to find a parts list that shows how everything is put together as well as parts to order for replacements when we get to that point. There are a couple of things that I know will need to be ordered but currently investigating in more depth.

From there we finished construction on the middle shelf of one  of the large rolling shelves in the classroom. Then put everything back onto the shelves and put the chalkboard back onto the back of it.

From there we sharpened a couple of chainsaws so we can work on cutting the rest of the wood in Arakkis.

For the last bit of the day we discovered the cats had gotten into the library and found their way into some food that was left out that was supposed to be fed to them. I oiled a couple of doors while we were investigating how they got in and it looks like they just need to be closed a bit more firmly as the weathering strip stops them from doing a soft close.

Then we spent the last 15 minutes or so investigating how to make some piney tar to put together the round wood chairs in the fisher price house.

Not too too much different things today, but long projects.

Today was a half-arse holiday for Round Wood so we felled a greenwood tree to use for a greenwood to drywood joinery.

Check out Matt's BEL thread for more details on the chair he's making.

After we felled and prepped a greenwood tree for the second half of the day we did about an hour of cutting logs in Arrakis as well.

After lunch i spent the next 3 or so hours working on a cat bowl fix, but ended up scraping it due to not liking how it turned out. Going back to the drawing board on how i'm going to approach it. I think i'll do notched slots for the wood as i used a screw in the last design. Tried making something with greenwood, used a variety of hand tools and mechanical tools as well.

After the day was out Matt made a top tier pizza which we all partook in.

It's 11F out, so I'm not sure. I hope the potato is settling in okay.
