Just finished converting an Allis G tractor to electric. The Allis G was a venerable small cultivator made in the 1940's and 50's, perfect for a small vegetable farm. There are a number of attachments like seeders and cultivators. Hundreds have now been converted to electric, so many that there is a machine shop that sells a kit for the mechanical parts.
There was a well-known project by Flying Beet Farms that pioneered this conversion. However, the instructions are dated, Flying Beet is no more and you can only find their blog on Archive.org anymore. They used lead acid batteries, and most of the parts they used are no longer made.
Update to the 21st century! We're using Lithium batteries, modern components, and put the
detailed directions on Instructables.com so they will be available for a long time.
