My situation has changed, and have been given the opportunity to go to anywhere in the USA. I would LOVE to be able to farm/garden for these remaining years I have on this planet. I have extensive knowledge in botany and horticulture, and have created gardens, or tried to, in nearly every place I have lived. Now wish to do so "for real".

Do you have use for a 53 y/o, able bodied male on your farm/"commune"/intentional community? Please let me know ASAP

Thank you.

Hello!  I do need someone to help me on my small place in West Texas.  Of course, it is much different climate here than Houston.  I'm sure you know that.  Have you always been in Texas?  I would love to have help here.  I would have to have folks vetted properly and it might not be your cup of tea.

I am trying to make a food forest, I'm not sure if that's possible here.  We have little rain and lots of wind.  Right now I have started some gardens, I have buffalo grass that I'm very reluctant to disturb.  I would like to have chickens, but I have two dogs and coyotes running near.  So I would have to have very secure living space for them.

Best of luck to you.

Barbara

I'm glad to see that you're able to get out of Houston and I hope that now its time for you to find the right homestead or community to join up with!  I think this adjusted and brighter oppertunity and approach will work for you now!

I just need to point out, the reason I choose to pursue a residence in an intentional community is that it is literally ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE easier, less stressful for ALL, for a large group of People to "support" one individual, than it is for one or two individuals to do the same. IOW, it's a "no brainer". It's "People help People", not "an individual helps People" or "an individual is able to fend for themself"

To reiterate, I am NOT ABLE at all to just "pull myself up by my bootstraps" in order to keep myself from becoming unhoused. I NEED help. FROM THE COMMUNITY.

I have 15 acres in Georgia not far from Atlanta. The garden is very neglected but I've always dreamed of turning this land into a self sustaining food forest/farm. There is self contained apartment/garage that you could stay in for free while you help to build the place up. I could help try to market our produce to the many various farmers markets in the area.

I will finance whatever improvements that we agree are needed to make the project viable. Fencing, irrigation, soil amendments etc.

Shoot me a resume.
