Has anyone tried to compost horse manure with homemade bokashi or lactobacillus fermentation. I believe the pH of the liquor would kill the weed seeds in the horse manure.

It could work. It could also promote germination of weed seeds that respond to acid scarification. Remember that some plants are adapted to high pH (ashes from a forest fire help them germinate) and others to low pH (digestive acids help them germinate). The one thing that seeds haven't adapted to is long, slow cooking, like in the compost heap.

Heat is the ideal solution but it can be hard to get in a small compost heap.
I can use sheet composting and clear plastic on 100 plus degree days.

I've had better luck with Two layers of Clear plastic Or one layer of Black plastic . Two layers of black plastic will sterilize the ground and kill off Japanese Knot weed !

Alex : It started out as a 'I'll pick up that sheet of clear plastic later' which resulted (where the plastic was in two layers) in burning the grass brown in less than 48 hours!

The two layers of black plastic actually sterilized the soil where a neighbor successfully killed off some Japanese knot weed ! This was done above 44 degrees North latitude
in upstate New York ! Yes, this is a very nasty thing to do to Mother Earth, I didn't do the later one, I'm only reporting on it, and It IS a little better than "the R_____ word !

ok, then that may work for horse manurer.

If I follow your logic then it should also be possible to create a cold frame for horse composting. The plastic or glass could be used to help heat the pile to the level required to kill the weed seed.
I have some old sliding glass doors that might just do the trick to creat such a box. If I line it all with heavy black plastic and have enough moisture the temp should go to over 130 without taking into account any bio-heat produced by microbes.

Many people make their above ground box that their storm windows rest on, out of highly insulating hay bales, carrying the plastic out of your pit and over the bales will
