Hello, my name is Dennis, I'm 31 and  I have a wife (,Laura) and 4 young, well behaved children aged 5, 6, 6, and 10. We live in Northwest, New Mexico in the lower elevation desert (Farmington, NM). We  have had a dream for several years now to homeschool are children and go off-grid. We are looking for somewhere preferably in northern  New Mexico or southern Colorado area but are open to anywhere honestly and have also been looking into Montana, Alaska etc. My 6 year old son is not my wife's biological kid and I share custody of him with his biological mother 50/50 who resides in Farmington, NM as well and he has went to school there for the last few years so it would just be more feasible, but I am willing to discuss with her and change up our schedule for a opportunity at a new and better way of living for my family. In a dream scenario,  My wife and I would like to work for somebody on their land and help them with their homestead or any projects they may have in exchange for a small parcel of land down the road or at least an opportunity to buy the land a little later down the road. We bought a firewood business a few years ago in Pagosa springs, Colorado  and had moved it down to Farmington New Mexico. We would like to start selling wood wherever we go again cuz it's something we really enjoy and is our main source of income. If one were to have enough land with timber they would like mitigated, I would happily do so in exchange for the wood to be sold as firewood and could give you a cut of money from said timber sold. I would like to build a cabin out of logs either as a log cabin or milled down into wood off of the land if that is a possibility (again, dream scenario). We would eventually like to get chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, meat rabbits, a few pigs, possibly  a few miniature cows, We would like to start a large garden or could assist in maintaining one for exchange for some food. I have experience in numerous areas including construction, logging, mechanical, farm, etc. I'm very abled and a hard worker as well as my wife. We have been purchasing a home from my wife's step dad for the last 6 years and recently got screwed over on the whole deal and we just want to get away from city living. This lifestyle I understand doesn't just get thrown in front of you and you have to jump into it and we are willing to do so. My mother just passed in May from liver disease and her death really made me want to live our dream instead of not taking action towards it. When we are selling firewood we make really good money once established and can make payments on property if that's an option but would rather work it off if it's possible. I have experience in hunting and do so regularly, we fish all the time,
I do a lot of Bushcraft. Very respectable. If anyone knows of anything or could point us in the right direction I would highly appreciate it. Thank you in advance. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Hello my name is Daniel I just came across an opportunity to live an also purchase the property it's 6.7 aces with 2 run down 500ft chicken barns one of barns is still doable the other barn is worth storing things in. I already started stripping the copper wires for some quick cash. The place belongs to my friend he told me I could do what ever I wanted to do with the place he wants to start an orchard with apples cherries peaches an more. We are very 420 friendly. He only has has a cinder block building that a contractor built there 2 years ago when he got there. I / we would love some help out there we already have 14 forageing roosters we got for free. I'm  inbthe process of building a small chicken pen on the side of one of barns an getting some hens next. An my friend already told me that he wants to start selling the fire wood bundles so we are working on that as well very soon. An hopefully sell some eggs as it gets cooler. So like I said there's nothing built but his place there is water an electric there but the well pump needs to be replaced as he says it does but I need to still check it out before I go spending $200 on a new one please text me to carry on this conversation anytime. 512 651 0759
Daniel
Thank you
The property is in umpire arkansas

Dennis Martinez - I am responding to your post from last August 2024 in regard to looking for an opportunity to exchange labor for homesteading land. Please let me know if you are still interested. I am searching for someone interested in this kind of arrangement to assist my brother and sister-in-law with their property. They have a large portion of acreage in an "off grid" scenario in the Delta, Colorado area. If you are still interested, I can put you in touch with them to discuss the situation and arrangements.
