[Analog - BC Hydro - Opt-out - Port Alberni, BC] Keep your old power meter, for a fee by Tom Fletcher - BC Local News - Alberni Valley News - July 18, 2013:

(....Bennett said the cost of meter reading will be about $20 a month. Customers who accept a deactivated smart meter will also pay a fee of about $100 to have it adjusted....Bennett said mechanical or "analog" meters are obsolete, and eventually every customer will have a smart meter, whether it is set to transmit or not....there are no analog meters to reinstall," Bennett said. "You can't buy them anywhere.")

Sure these are lies.

But what about the big picture?
How far away do you have to go to assure that even if off grid you could somehow avoid a cell tower installation
which may occur the next week in what you thought was the middle of nowhere?
The real threat is 7 billion cell phone users.

BC Hydro and all the other utilities are great at inspiring people to go off grid.
Off grid is a life long dream for me.
It might be doable too, since our usage is so minimal.
The cost of staying on grid is going to climb drastically.
Greed has no ceiling.
The cost of going off grid (no, not grid tied) is dropping significantly.
The problem is how to escape the microwave blanket over everything on or off grid.

This entire issue is about electronic trespass even for those who do not have a smart meter.
EVeryone's transmission lines and house wiring are also coupled to wirelessly at the same risk.
Sure in densely populated areas or even in rural areas there will be a few "opt out" holes in a
seamless wireless system in exchange for extortion fees to line pockets while altering nothing essential.
Going off grid or even just opting out may lower the exposure level but it does not eliminate the hazard at all.
It's more like taking a few drops of water out of this
artificial wireless frequency ocean.
The frequencies penetrate air, water and at least three feet into the ground, and virtually
everything living and most if not all root systems are at far less depth than that.
The smart grid covers everywhere.
Even if you opt out, you are in.
The industry calls it FULL PENETRATION.
And they are proud of it.
This means electronic forcible non consensual penetration goes everywhere, whether a few individuals here and there
opt out or not.
This is what they already did to the oceans.
This is electronic drift netting, designed to capture and penetrates everything in the ecosystem,
and everything structural, whether this is necessary or not, it is a wireless blanket which compounds
all the other wireless blankets and overlays them. It is called super heterodyning.
It originates from radar technology.
Collateral damage is just that, irrelevant to profit.
Where is there to go? Where is it safe? It is as if the industry microwavers are following all roads to everywhere
in pursuit of the data mining short term market bubble.
