Hi, Has anyone tried burpee's organic seed starting mix? I bought 4 bags this year for the first time. Expected good results from an organic mix- has coconut coir and composted chicken manure and feather meal, perlite and plant food. Alot  of the seeds did not come up -even very fresh good ones. I hardened off the ones I did get and planted them outside. The tomatoes are finally growing well ( I plant them deeper for better roots) but most of the rest are stunted . I had zinnias and calendulas that I put in various places around the yard- none have grown much while the few self sown calendulas are doing ok. I looked on line but could not find any info about this mix except sales pitches. I still have plenty of the mix left, not sure what to do with it. I usually make my own but could not this year.

Sorry you have had problems.  Since you say you usually make you own that sounds like lessons learned to me.

The seed starting mix that I have bought in the past had too much wood flakes to my liking so I sift it.

But I also start most of my seeds outdoors to begin with as I like the way mother nature does it.

It used to be a lot bigger, but now it is a rather tiny ad:
