The first looks like japanese anemone to me

The first one is definitely Anemone.

The 2nd on looks like it could be a rose of some sort judging by the leaf type and fruits.

The fruits are too oblong looking to be the local 'rose hip' or 'nootka rose' to my eye.

But I agree, it does look rose-ish to me as well (that's a 'probably')

The rose is a briar rose or dogrose . Rosa canina . When the hips turn ruby red spend a day braving the thorns and pick as many as you can . Tea for the winter . Eat some fresh . They're very tasty . They will also form an inpenetrable thicket if left unchecked . If you want to keep them an occassional cutting back will keep them where they are.
