Paul has asked for a thread here to introduce people to TimberToys. They are the creation of tenthjuror, a user on the website imgur.com, who posted the following photos in an album there. Accompanying commentary describes these as a project originally made for his son. Here's what TimberToys look like:







According to the commentary, the corner blocks are made simply by laminating 2x6s together, cutting them to shape on a table saw and boring the holes with a drill press. Here are some images including tenthjuror's son, which give a sense of the size and strength of these toys:









Here's a detail shot of the clips that can be seen in a couple of the previous photos:



Finally, here is a picture showing the setup used to cut the tenon ends on the connecting rods:

Does he market these? I want. Period. Massively ultracool. Something that can support 40-50# of kid, truly serious strong.
 
We've gotta get close enough to that helmet to pull the choke on it's engine and flood his mind! Or, we could just read this tiny ad:
