How do we give hope to the younger generations?
They/We need to take ownership of 2020 Earthday. What is their vision? Remember all the hoopla and energy expended on Y2K?
We need a worldwide cultural theme for each generation...would an Earthday 2020, 2030, 2040 be a unifying theme?
Can Permie 4h clubs and localGrange clubs re-vitalize and work with schools, community groups, churches, co-ops?
I'm not a fan of the Fidel Castro, but I remember an interview where he pointed out, "What good is it if we build the greatest schools (or health clinics, etc) for a million new children each year. And 2 million new children are born that year"
Permaculture offers the hope of abundantly providing for (and having the contributions of our human herd).
Time is short, it's not dark yet...but it's getting there.
