Eudryas grata 'beautiful wood nymph'

This caterpillar is on our front porch on the inside of the shade cloth on leaves and stems of the Virginia Creeper and Hops vines that have wandered in....finally found an ID and it confirms their use of hops and v. creeper (among a few others) as host plants for the caterpillars.

The rolled leaves in my photo below are apparently the home for the larvae and it seems like they retreat to them in the hot part of the day?

 Eudryas grata is a moth known as the beautiful wood nymph. They are known for their mimicry of bird droppings. This species is found predominantly across the entire eastern United States. Hosts for the caterpillar include Ampelopsis, buttonbush, grapes, hops, and Virginia creeper.[1]

a younger one today?
There are several, appearing only one or two at a time but some larger and some smaller.

I peeked in one of the rolls and there is a bit of cottony white fiber...I might unroll one to see what's happening inside.

size wise they range from 1.5 " to 2".
