After years I am happy to announce that I will be gaining access to a 5 acre property that was an
apple orchard.
This property has a house on it with other buildings as well. The property is expandable for an additional 25 acres in the future for a total of 30 acres.
I have decided to remove much of the
apple trees on the first 5 acres. I will use the apple trees for
hugelkultur beds. I am removing the trees because of numerous reasons. I have weighed the pros and cons. I am happy to hear more pros from anyone.
We want to have
chickens, a few pigs and
rabbits on the property. Eventually we will have an aqua phonic
greenhouse for high yield lettuce and kitchen herb growth.
I want to have PDCs taught on this property. I myself have never taken a
PDC. I won't be staying at the house on the property I will commute there. Because of other obligations I have no choice. The house will be for workers and volunteers. I don't know how to set if up. I can't get in touch with
local WWOOF people.
I would love to hear all of your thoughts. We get about 550 mm (21.6 inches) of rain per year. The average high is 22 (72) and the average low is -4 (25).
I am very excited about this
project. It is 30km outside of the 9th largest
city in Europe.
