Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share some of the pictures we took of our practice RHM. We built this to get some hands on experience before we start building the real one in our house. It was a great learning experience. We learned about the spacing between the intake, the area where the air/fuel mix and the combustion chamber. Also the diameter of the riser as well as the height. The kids loved helping out with this project and especially the "rockety" sound it makes when warmed up!!

We just built this from bricks that were left over from the previous owner and some old stove pipe that my father doesn't use anymore. In the back round you can see remnants of the kids 1st mini rocket stove made from coffee and bean cans!! We have learned so much from this site!! Thank you to all that have answered questions and helped us out!!

Oh, Don't worry we are going to use fire brick and no concrete for the in house construction. Again, this was just a practice run!

Jennifer

Jennifer: Looks great! You're well on your way. VERY smart to test, play around with the design, get ideas...

Hopefully getting our Firebrick soon. We've been trying to repurpose firebrick from old stoves that can no longer be used but we're going to have to buy some. I can't believe how much new firebrick costs. I guess you get what you pay for. Don't want to skimp on a RMH to heat the home. Thanks for taking a look guys!
